Throwback - Emerald City Half and Quarter

Last month I photographed the Emerald City Half Marathon. These events are always fun. Even going into the third year of doing them, I still look forward to photographing every race.

I'm totally not a morning person. I'm more the type of person that gets a second wind of energy at 8 or 9 pm, looks up at the clock at 3 am thinking "crap I have to work in the morning". But, for these races I often have to get up before the sun to get moving. And, even if it is at 5 am, every morning before a race I'm full of excitement. There is so much positive energy at these events. Everyone that I am photographing Is full of enthusiasm from what they've just accomplished. For some of them, it's their first and they can't even believe that they were able to do it. It's pretty awesome that I can be a part of this just by showing up with my camera to take pictures and give high fives. 

  • Developing Old Rolls

    20171029 I have an old tin tea package in my room labeled "DEVELOP THIS FILM". For the most part it stays at least half full. I shoot kind of a lot of film. Most of it is just for fun, because for me film doesn't feel like work…
